Here at Complete Flooring Works, we want to help you keep your hardwood floors in the best possible condition, and that sometimes includes refinishing them. While hardwood flooring is designed to last for a long time, it does undergo wear and tear and will need some care and attention in order to continue to look its best. Of course, it can be tricky to tell if your floors have reached the point of needing to be refinished, so our team has put together this article to help you make that judgment call. If you notice any of the following signs, you probably need hardwood floor refinishing.
- Scratches – Unfortunately, there is no way to prevent your hardwood floor from becoming scratched over time. However, if the scratches are few in number or located in out-of-the-way areas, then there may be no need for hardwood floor refinishing just yet. Whether you can live with the scratches on your floors comes down to a matter of personal preference, but when you decide that they have become too much, our team is here to make your floors look as good as new.
- Stains- Another sign that it may be time for hardwood floor refinishing is the presence of stains. Unlike some other materials, such as copper, wood does not develop an elegant patina over time–stains only make your wood floors look worse. If your floors have a prominent stain, you can call our team to have them refinished.
- Fading- A third indicator that it may be time for hardwood floor refinishing is if your floor has faded over time. Most people are drawn to hardwood floors with a deep, rich color, so if that color has been bleached by the sun, then it only makes sense to have them refinished to get that color back.
