If you are doing the work yourself and need to take time off work to do so, factor that into your budget even if you’ll be using vacation time, as you could end up needing to take unpaid leave later. If you are hiring a professional to install it, have them give you a quote for the work and confirm that you have calculated properly before they arrive to safeguard against delayed project completion.
- Step 5: Add in any incidental costs, such as if you need to stay in a hotel during the project, pet boarding costs, restaurant meals if your kitchen will be out of commission, and so forth.
